Addict
High
Overdose
The Gear

These are a few names which i have come up with i think that any of these could be a good title for my film as they use drug terminology to link with the story line. I will get people to choose which title they think sounds the best and woud like me to use.

Planning location

Check out this SlideShare Presentation:

Story Line 1st idea

Rough idea for storyline:
Men have bad drugs habit
Run out of money after spending on drugs
Bailiffs come round the house and the two pretend they are not home
They later leave the house to pick up some drugs
They steal from the dealer and leave him blooded up on the pavement
dealer later finds through sources where the two men live
And the story ends in a dramatic stand off with weapons (Knifes, Guns etc.)

Intertextuality/Digi pack

Planning (Genre + Target audience)

The chosen genre for my film is going to be Crime/Gangster/Thriller and the target market for this would be for people within the age range of 15-30. These type of films usually attract the male population more than females. This may reduce the size of my target audience but if it involves parts of a thriller this would hopefully get more of the population involved e.g. James Bond.

This Is England Dvd Cover

The front cover bigs up the film and can make the viewer want to buy it as they have used quotes what people have said about the film with the star rating showing how good the film is ment to be. The way in which character is dressed shows the year which the film is based in. Also the skinhead hair cuts also represent see time phase. It uses a font which looks as if it had been drawn by hand like graffiti on the wall behind the characters. It has been called the best britsh movie since trainspotting so this gives people the incentive to want to buy the Dvd.

James Bond Dvd Cover

Eden Lake Dvd Cover

The fonts used are big and bold so for this reason they stand out and catch the eye of the buyer. The red writting also strands out against the dark background and sometimes red symbolises envy and in this case blood. The setting is given away that it will be set n th woods, woods are usually seen as dark scary places when the light can not come through the tree tops so this is a well chosen setting for the film. The way in which the women character is dirty and hiding shows that this film will be scary and revieals to the viewer that something bad it going to happen to this character. Silhouettes are used to show the other characters in the background this gives a mysterious and scary affect as there identities are unknown. Again as in most of the front covers the producer has chosen to put a quote on the front cover to try and present the film as a really good film which other reviewers have said about it. Eden lake it a aged 18 film rating so this lowers the amount of people who can view the film but hits a large adult target market who enjoy scary thrillers.

Greenstreet Dvd Cover

The characters on the front of the DVD cover all all shouting and this gives off the message the genre and the type of film which Greenstreet is going to be. The caption which the producers has used to put on the front cover of "Stand your ground and fight" Again shows to the buyer what to expect when watching this film. Another film which again uses quotes to make the film sound good and appeal to the audience, this time they have purposely left the words "Football factory" and "Playground scrap" in capitals to try and stress how much better there film is even though it has the same type of storyline.. The red bold font can simbolise the violence which may occur through ut the film and that blood will be shed due to the fighting which is going to take place. The film is an 18 Which tells the viewer that the film will be violent and have strong language.

Harry Brown Dvd Cover

Adulthood Dvd Cover

In the Cover the buyer can easily see what type of genre the film is expected to be by the ways in which the characters are dressed. Each character show by there body language that they are like a gangster with a swagger. The ligh in the background makes the chracters stand out and forms a shaddow over there faces to show what kind of characters they are going to be in the film.

James Bond Trailer

Greenstreet Trailer

Eden Lake Trailer

The trailer for eden lake uses techniques which build suspension making the viewers want to go and watch the film. At the begining of the trailer it is calm and showing the couple have a good time and then a dog barks and this triggers the begging of a more upbeat backing track signaling to the audience that things are going take a turn for the worse. The producer of the trailer also uses flashes of red and shows the main character behind flames so show the difference between the characters.

Adulthood Trailer

Adulthood is a UK street film which is along the lines of what genre of fil i would like to produce. It was a big hit in the UK and this genre of film usually do well as they are entertaining and realistic. The actors in the film are all recongnised from previous films which they have done e.g. Danny Dyer had previously done "Football Factory".

This is England Trailer

The genre for the film This is England is social realism. This links into what type of film trailer I want to create. Its uses a lot of slow shots and slow motions to present to the viewer that the film is depressing and has a sad story line. Lots of establiahing shots are used to show the area which they are living in is lower class and a bad area to live in.

Harry Brown Trailer

I have decided to look at harry brown as this could be used as my inspiration towards my own music trailer. I think that harry brown is a good trailer as it doesnt give too much information away to tell the whole story line which keeps the audience in suspense but involves action packed shots which gains the viewers attention. It uses quick and slower shot transitions link with what the film is like. Special affects are used to create the genre of the film so the audience knows instantly what type of film is being shown. The non-diegetic music in the background is at a high tempo and then comes to a sudden stop when sad or bad things happen to his friends or family. It also has voice overs which leads into the next bit of the clip but only certain bits have been picked out of the film as these parts build up tension. Aswell as the backing music their is a heartbeat sound which gradually gets quicker which links with the tempo of the trailer.Quotations are used to promote how good the film is and most of these quotes are about the main actor micheal caine which instantly grabs a viewers attention and creates a good audience as he is a major actor who people recognise and may even ust go watch the film because he is in it and people see him as a recognised top actor.

Introduction

Welcome to my blog and this will consist of research, planning and construction. I am going to create a film trailer and my decided genre is going to be along the lines of social realism or gangster this is because these are usually action packed and have interesting story lines. I am going to gain ideas and inspiration from other film trailers, DVD covers and poster.
